Texas Tech Red Raiders (1) VS. Texas A&M University Aggies (4)
The Aggies started off the second game of the series against Texas Tech quickly. When the Tech forwards turned over the puck in the neutral zone, Assistant Captain Jeff Diltz took advantage of a Tech defensive change and scored a breakaway goal with a shot to the top left corner 30 seconds in with assists from Dominic Marino and Aubrey Berkowitz.
Not 45 seconds later, Nathan Banks stepped in and scored a goal with assists from Assistant Captain Nick Xenakis and Nick Uccello, bringing the score to 2-0.
Michael Zahner contributed his second goal of the series with ten and a half minutes remaining in the first period with help from Nick Culliton.
Two minutes later, Justin Cooley passed the puck to Julien LeGrand, who gave it to Brian Dinkelkamp. He scored, giving the Aggies a 4-0 lead.
Thanks to spectacular defense and a dazzling performance by Kyle Vrla, the Aggies' four goals went unanswered until 4 there were minutes remaining in the third period, when Tech scored their first and only goal, bringing the score to 4-1.
The Aggies scored one more goal: Michael Molge took a pass from Justin Cooley and shot the puck from the point with 1:38 remaining to finish off the game 5-1.
Vrla made 21 outstanding saves throughout the game.
