Texas A&M University Aggies (2) VS. Texas Tech University Red Raiders (7)

Due to the temporary closing of the Lubbock ice facility, the Aggies traveled to Odessa for a weekend match up against the Red Raiders. In a rare situation, both teams will finish their Home and Home series in the same semester. This weekend series also found the Aggies scheduled between two Raider trips – previous from Las Vegas and next weekend to San Jose.

A much improved Texas Tech team dominated the balance of the game in a lack-luster performance by the Aggies. The Red Raiders scored at 5:51 to notch the lone score of the first period.

The Aggies continued to dig a hole for themselves by incurring 8 of their 10 minors in the second period. This lack of discipline contributed, in large part, to 3 unanswered Red Raider goals to take a commanding 4-0 lead to finish the second period.

A&M re-grouped during the break, and put a point on the board at 1:27 of the third period. Aubrey Berkowitz won the puck battle deep into the Tech territory and with quick pass to rookie Anthony Rapesak to hit the 5 hole, 4-1.

The Raiders answered again at 3:51 and 4:29, 6-1.

At mid period, the Aggies did produce a bright spot in a short-handed situation. Cagey Tom Callaghan, our goalie turned goal scorer, picked off an errant goalie clearing pass and surprised the Tech net minder, 6-2 Red Raiders.

Texas Tech finished the contest scoring late in the third period.

Final Score: Red Raiders 7 Aggies 2
